Ok gang, if you’re anything like me you’ll appreciate that a good bra can be pricey despite it being hidden under your clothing 99% of the time. I think it’s time to embrace the underwear as outerwear trend that’s really picked up over the last few months, and get those gorgeous details on show!
The beauty of this is that you can show as much or as little as you want, depending how confident you feel or the look you’re aiming for. I’m going to run through some of my favourite pieces and how I’d style them for a more casual look, or a more glammed-up event.
Starting off, we can’t exactly ignore the screams of ‘show me off!’ from the gorgeous Scantilly range. With plenty of different styles, there’s something for everyone. Anything from this stunning collection works with a sheer mesh top or bodysuit to flaunt those stunning details, but if you're not keen on a sheer top how about using the straps on Unzipped, Harnessed and Black Magic to add some interest to an otherwise plain v-neckline?
L-R: Scantilly Unzipped, Black Magic, Harnessed
Bralettes are taking the lingerie world by storm lately, and they’re slowly becoming more available to us D+ gals. Team styles like Curvy Kate Unwind up with sporty outfits for athleisure vibes, or rock a fuller coverage crop-top style bralette with high waisted jeans and a blazer for smart-casj cocktails with the gals.
L-R: Freya Arya, Curvy Kate Unwind, Rougette Frankie
Got a lush silk PJ top or a gorgeous chiffon robe? How about a satin chemise or camisole? Loungewear and nightwear as outerwear is a total VIBE right now, and if you get it right you'll look smokin' while being comfy as heck. Mix and match your nightwear styles with jeans and skirts to create a multitude of evening and going out-outfits.
L-R: Bluebella Claudia PJs, Kinga Cherry Wrap, Kinga Moon Grey Nightdress
Last but not least, there's been a huge increase in the number of lingerie basques and bodysuits available for D+ cups. Both wired and non-wired bodies are available, but whichever you choose these are the perfect way to experiment with lingerie layering if you're not ready to take the total plunge just yet. Slip on your fave pair of skinny jeans or leather-look trousers, or get rock-chick vibes with a pleated midi skirt combined with one of our fabulous basque or body choices!
L-R: Scantilly Indulge Me, Curvy Kate Sparks Fly, Pour Moi Opulence
Don’t be afraid to liven up your outfits with a flash of lingerie – it can be a great confidence booster and a perfect excuse for flaunting your new purchases!
