Ladies, if you’re anything like me you’ll appreciate that a good bra can be pricey despite it being hidden under your clothing 99% of the time. I think it’s time to embrace the underwear as outerwear trend that’s really picked up over the last few months, and get those gorgeous details on show!
The beauty of this is that you can show as much or as little as you want, depending how confident you feel or the look you’re aiming for. I’m going to run through some of my favourite pieces and how I’d style them for a more casual look, or a more glammed-up event.
Starting off, we can’t exactly ignore the screams of ‘show me off!’ from the gorgeous Scantilly ranges. With plenty of different styles, there’s something for everyone.
Pair up the gorgeous half cup styles Unleash or Lavish with a sheer mesh top. These styles will keep you covered with a major shelf-lift for a gravity-defying look, whilst the sheer mesh top will give a sneaky peek at what’s underneath.
Show strapping detail off over a low cut or scoop neckline – Surrender, Voodoo, Vamp, and Intoxicate are perfect for this! The gorgeous lace and strapping details add an extra layer to your outfit, without showing off too much.
If you’re feeling brave, Entwine is a gorgeous new addition to the Scantilly family. Fairly high coverage with an insane ribbon detail, this would look amazing styled as a crop top and paired with a pair of high waist jeans or a high waist skirt, finished off with an open shirt or blouse as a cover-up. For a more subdued look, layer it under a plunging neckline – the ribbon ties can be worn in a bow around your neck like a choker necklace.
Bralettes are taking the lingerie world by storm lately, and they’re slowly becoming more available to us D+ gals.
Team up one of the Freya Fancies bralettes with a pair of high waist jeans and a checked shirt for ultimate style. You can wear the shirt open or buttoned half-way up depending on the look you’re going for – perfect for an edgier look for a festival or concert.
Last but not least, we’ve got the gorgeous Pour Moi bralettes. My personal favourite is the Cherish High Neck bralette, which looks absolutely killer as crop top thanks to the longline lace detail that adds a little more coverage. The Pour Moi Amour bralette is a braver option, baring much more with its plunging neckline but looks just as good.
Don’t be afraid to liven up your outfits with a flash of lingerie – it can be a great confidence booster and a perfect excuse for flaunting your new purchases!
