How to put a bra on
Common fitting problems Bra sizing charts Find your shape Find your shape

Tip 1: No Slack in the Back

Bra fitting tip 1: No slack in the back
  • When putting your bra on start on the loosest hook as it will slacken in time, allowing you to tighten the back band as it stretches.
  • Remember the band should sit firm across the back because it has to provide you with 80% of the support.
  • When your bra is on take a look at your side profile in a mirror to make sure the band is sitting horizontally (see above).

Tip 2: What a strapping pair

Bra fitting tip 1: What a strapping pair!
  • The straps should only provide 20% of the support.
  • Before putting your straps on try tightening them to the half-way point so it's easier to judge where needs adjusting.
  • Check the tension is correct by placing two fingers under the straps, they should fit comfortably without the straps falling off.

Tip 3: Do the Boob Jiggle!

  • After you've gotten the back and straps correct then it's time to make sure you're positioned well in the cups.
  • Then simply scoop the breast tissue out from under your arms by pulling them to the centre of the bra.
  • The wires should not dig in and your breast tissue should not be spilling out.

Tip 4: Mind the Gap

Bra fitting tip 4: Mind the Gap
  • Make sure the centre of the bra is sitting flat against your chest without feeling uncomfortable.
  • To check it’s laying flat try putting two fingers under the panel, if you can with ease, then it’s too loose.
  • If your boobs are trying to escape and the centre panel is pushing out then the sizing is wrong.
